BOSTON — In a coordinated operation, the Boston Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit, alongside the Massachusetts State Police High-Risk Victims Unit, arrested a suspect on charges of trafficking for sexual servitude on Monday night.
The investigation, focusing on areas around Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard, led detectives to an online advertisement believed to list a victim of sexual exploitation and violent assaults.
After arranging a meeting via the provided contact number, detectives positioned themselves at 69 Boston Street.
At approximately 8:18 p.m., officers spotted the victim arriving by car and promptly intervened.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Sacharis Gathers of Braintree, was apprehended and found in possession of Crack Cocaine during a subsequent search.
Gathers now faces multiple charges, including Trafficking for Sexual Servitude, Deriving Support from Prostitution, and Possession of Class B drugs, along with an outstanding warrant related to auto law violations.
He is scheduled for arraignment in South Boston District Court.
