Woman arrested for reckless endangerment, child cruelty in Readsboro

READSBORO — A 74-year-old Readsboro woman was arrested Saturday morning after Vermont State Police responded to an incident involving a juvenile being transported without proper safety restraints.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., authorities were dispatched to Canal Drive where they discovered that Suzanne Sylvester of Jamaica, had driven a toddler from a residence in Readsboro to another home in Jamaica without securing the child in a car seat.

Following the investigation, Sylvester was located and taken into custody on charges of reckless endangerment and cruelty to a child.

She was processed at the Winhall Police Department and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Bennington Criminal Division, on Jan. 13 at 12:30 p.m.
