CHARLOTTE — A local contractor has been accused of defrauding a 77-year-old homeowner after failing to complete contracted pool services.

Vermont State Police reported that Michael Kenyon, 47, of Vergennes, was hired by Joel Cook of Charlotte to provide pool servicing through Valley Pool and Spa Service LLC.

Despite receiving payment upfront for several months of pool maintenance, Kenyon allegedly did not perform the agreed work.

Cook’s repeated attempts to reach Kenyon to fulfill the service agreement were unsuccessful.

Kenyon has been cited for home improvement fraud after not completing the contracted work and failing to issue a refund for the services not rendered.

He is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Feb. 26 at 8:30 a.m.
