Enfield police arrest one in Burlington Coat Factory theft, seek female accomplice

ENFIELD — Enfield Patrol Officers responded to a reported larceny in progress at the Burlington Coat Factory on Jan. 11 at about 4:30 p.m., leading to the arrest of one suspect and the search for another.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect who resisted arrest.

One officer sustained a minor injury during the apprehension.

The suspect, Alexander Puello, 26, from New York City, NY, was taken into custody and charged with assault on a police officer, interfering with an officer, organized retail theft, larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny, and possession of a shoplifting device.

Police recovered 261 items, including five shopping carts filled with shoes, one cart of purses and bags, and five luggage bags.

Puello is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Enfield Police Department is now seeking information to identify a female involved in the theft who fled the scene.
