Brighton man wanted for domestic assault, violating release conditions

BRIGHTON — Vermont State Police are on the hunt for a 26-year-old Brighton man after a domestic assault incident on Saturday evening.

Authorities received a 911 call at 7:39 p.m. reporting that Ryan Powers was attempting to break into an apartment on Railroad Street.

Troopers quickly responded to the scene.

Investigations concluded that Powers made a household member fear for their safety, inflicting fear of imminent serious bodily injury.

Additionally, Powers was found to have breached his court-ordered conditions of release.

Powers, who hails from the Island Pond area of Brighton, currently has seven active arrest warrants unrelated to this incident.

His current location is unknown.

State police have issued a call for assistance to the public in locating Powers. They urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks at (802) 334-8881.
