Woman arrested on drug possession charges in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — On the first day of the new year, Springfield police apprehended a local woman for alleged possession of crack cocaine after surveilling a residence known for drug activity.

According to the Springfield Police Department, officers were monitoring a house on Spring Street around 1 p.m. on Jan. 1 when they saw Bobbiejo Chambers, 44, of Springfield, enter and quickly leave the premises.

Officers engaged Chambers in what was described as a consensual encounter, which led to the discovery of the substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Chambers was arrested without further incident and taken to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

She has been issued a summons to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on March 11 at 8:30 a.m. to respond to the charge.
