WALLINGFORD — A Wallingford man sustained minor injuries Tuesday morning when his vehicle struck a tree on a snow-covered road, according to Vermont State Police.
Nicholas Aines, 20, was traveling east on Sugar Hill Road near VT RT 140 at about 9:29 a.m. when he failed to maintain his lane, causing his 2009 Jeep Wrangler to veer off the roadway and collide with a tree.
Authorities said Aines, who was wearing his seatbelt, complained of hand and head pain following the crash, but no hospitalization was necessary.
The Jeep suffered rear-end damage.
The weather was clear at the time of the incident, though the road conditions were impacted by recent snowfall.
Vermont State Police did not issue a civil violation complaint in connection with the crash, which remains under investigation.
