Suspect arrested in 2024 Jamaica Plain homicide

BOSTON — Boston Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, with assistance from Quincy Police, apprehended an 18-year-old suspect in connection to a fatal shooting from last year in Jamaica Plain.

The incident, which claimed the life of 19-year-old Quami J.

Clarke, occurred on Sept. 23, 2024, around 9:22 p.m. at 277 Centre Street.

Officers from District E-13 responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of gunfire.

They found Clarke with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Jan. 10, at about 4:20 p.m., Jason Douglas of Quincy was arrested at his residence at 35 Tyler Street by officers executing an arrest warrant.

Douglas has been transported to District E-13 for booking and faces arraignment in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of murder, possession of a large capacity feeding device, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, and carrying a firearm without a license for the second offense.
