BOSTON — A Roxbury man was arrested on multiple firearm-related offenses Friday night after police found a loaded gun in his vehicle.
Officers assigned to District B-2 were patrolling near 206 Warren Street at about 10:37 p.m. when they noticed a vehicle left running on a public way.
Upon approaching, they found Phillip Anderson, 44, asleep in the driver’s seat.
A subsequent search revealed a Smith & Wesson .40 Tactical firearm within the vehicle’s armrest.
The weapon was loaded with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine, according to District B-2 Detectives.
Anderson now faces charges including carrying a firearm without a license, which marks his fourth offense, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, and a firearm violation with two prior violent and/or drug offenses.
In addition to the firearms charges, he received citations for operating a vehicle with an idle engine for over five minutes and excessive window tint.
Anderson is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
