LYMAN — Authorities are searching for a Lyman man accused of a violent home invasion that occurred on Jan. 9, where he allegedly assaulted a homeowner, stole a vehicle, and fled with a substantial amount of cash.

York County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence around 10 p.m. The victim reported that Joshua Tellier, 43, had forcefully entered his home, assaulted him, and at knifepoint, coerced him into opening a safe.

Tellier then reportedly took a large sum of money and escaped in the victim’s vehicle.

Law enforcement officials have issued warrants for Tellier’s arrest on charges of Robbery, Domestic Violence Assault, Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned at the Portland Amtrak station.

However, Tellier remains at large and is believed to be armed with a knife.

The public is advised not to approach him and to report any information regarding his whereabouts to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office has also reached out directly to Tellier through a public post, urging him to surrender to authorities to ensure a safe resolution to the situation.
