Driver arrested on DUI after single-vehicle crash in Warren

WARREN — A 23-year-old Warren resident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his car on VT Route 100 near Ellen Ln early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1 a.m., Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single vehicle accident.

The driver, identified as Ianber Costa, was found at the scene with his 2015 Kia Optima, which was totaled in the crash.

According to authorities, the road conditions were wet due to cloudy weather, but Costa was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

Upon further investigation, police determined that Costa was operating the vehicle under the influence of intoxicants.

He was taken into custody and processed for suspected DUI.

After the processing, Costa was released with a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court-Criminal Division at a later date.

The Vermont State Police have not provided additional details about the incident.
