DANVERS — An armed robbery took place at a CVS pharmacy on Maple Street at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 8, authorities reported.
A white male, described as tall with a thin build and dark-colored hair, entered the store wearing a black face mask, sunglasses, a dark-colored jacket, tan pants, and black shoes.
Brandishing a handgun, he demanded that the pharmacist hand over an assortment of prescription narcotics before fleeing on foot toward Conant and Berry streets.
The Danvers Police Department, with the assistance of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, conducted an extensive search of the area following the robbery.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Officials have stated that the investigation is active and ongoing, with collaboration between local law enforcement, the Massachusetts State Police, and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force to apprehend the suspect.
