ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was cited for unlawful trespass and retail theft after violating his conditions of release, according to St. Johnsbury Police.
Benjamin Heath, 35, of St. Johnsbury, allegedly trespassed at the White Market on Portland Street at 6:47 p.m. on Jan. 7.
Heath, who had been previously banned from the property, was found by police in a nearby hardware store parking lot and cited for the violation.
Shortly after, Heath reportedly stole butane containers from the Aubuchon Hardware store before police arrived.
The incident was reported at 7 p.m., and Heath will be cited for the theft once located.
Heath is scheduled to appear in Caledonia Court on Feb. 10 at 8:30 a.m. for the incidents.
