DERBY — Snowy conditions contributed to a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning at the intersection of Vermont Route 105 and Salem Derby Road in Derby, state police reported.

Catherine Vanasse, 39, of Newport was unable to stop her 2024 GMC Terrain on snow-covered Salem Derby Road before entering the Route 105 intersection around 8:21 a.m., where she collided with an eastbound 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Timothy Hodges Sr., 46, also of Newport.

Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles suffered severe front-end damage and were towed from the scene.

State police reminded drivers to reduce speed and increase stopping distance during inclement weather.

Derby Line Fire Department, Newport Ambulance Service, Ray’s Towing, and B&B Towing assisted at the scene.
