BRATTLEBORO — A Hinsdale, New Hampshire man was arrested Thursday after becoming aggressive and assaulting police officers following his removal from Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
Michael E. Lee, 63, was initially approached by Brattleboro Police at the hospital around 4:04 p.m. on Jan. 5, after he refused to leave the premises.
Following a courtesy transport by the police, Lee struck two officers and attempted to take a duty weapon from one of them when directed to exit the police vehicle.
After the altercation, Lee was restrained and taken into custody.
He received treatment for injuries sustained during the incident and was held in lieu of $500 bail.
Lee was ordered to appear in Windham Superior Court on Jan. 6 to face charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
