RANDOLPH — A two-vehicle crash on Vt Rt 66 claimed the life of a local man and left a woman with serious injuries on Jan. 6 at approximately 10:45 a.m.
Donald Price, 65, of Randolph was pronounced dead at the scene after his Nissan Frontier crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Subaru Outback driven by 67-year-old Cynthia Brown, also of Randolph.
According to the Vermont State Police-Royalton Barracks, Price’s vehicle was found in a ditch north of the roadway, while Brown’s vehicle came to rest in the eastbound lane.
Price was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, police said.
Brown, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.
Both vehicles were reported as totaled, and the road conditions were dry under clear skies at the time of the incident.
Emergency response teams from the Randolph Police Department, Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, White River Valley Ambulance, Randolph Fire Department, and Stockwell’s Towing provided assistance at the crash site.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
