Suspect in custody after Mattapan shooting

BOSTON — Boston Police Department, in coordination with the Massachusetts State Police and Quincy Police, have arrested a 63-year-old man in connection with a shooting incident in Mattapan.

Thomas Robinson of Quincy was apprehended at about 8:45 a.m. on Monday, January 6, near Jackson Street in Quincy.

Robinson was wanted on a warrant issued by Dorchester Court for charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault and Battery with a Firearm, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

He is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Friday, December 20, at approximately 11:37 p.m., when officers from District B-3 responded to a call at 130 Delhi Street in Mattapan.

On the scene, they found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound.

The officers provided medical assistance until Boston EMS arrived to transport the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
