HILLSBORO — A 22-year-old Bennington man was arrested Sunday after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended with his vehicle disabled on Antrim Road.
Andrew Fletcher Mackenzie failed to stop when officers attempted to pull him over, initiating the pursuit.
During the chase, Mackenzie struck a traffic island, damaging his vehicle, which eventually stopped just past the courthouse.
Mackenzie was taken into custody without further incident and held on $5,000 cash bail at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections.
His charges include disobeying an officer, reckless operation, negligent operation, operating after certified as a habitual offender, and driving an uninspected vehicle.
