MACHIAS — In a successful crackdown on local drug activities, the Machias Police Department conducted a raid on a residence on Wednesday, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of illegal substances and a firearm.
The operation, which took place at 3:30 p.m. at a home located at 4 Colonial Way, led to the discovery and seizure of crack cocaine, various pharmaceuticals, and a .40 caliber pistol.
Authorities executed a search warrant that culminated in the arrest of 41-year-old Caleb Brown, a Machias resident, who now faces charges of possession of crack cocaine and violation of conditional release.
Also implicated in the raid was 44-year-old Tabatha Remeschatis, also from Machias, who has been charged with possession of illegal drugs.
The police have indicated that additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
