FALL RIVER — The Fall River Police Department has issued a call to action for community assistance after the Fallen Officers’ Memorial was vandalized on Jan. 4.
The memorial, which honors the memory and sacrifice of officers who have died in the line of duty, was found desecrated over the weekend.
Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect responsible for the damage to come forward.
The Fallen Officers’ Memorial is a respected site in Fall River, featuring the names of officers who have dedicated their lives to the safety and protection of the community.
The memorial also includes personalized bricks with tributes to loved ones, purchased and installed by families, as well as messages supporting the city and the police department.
Authorities are treating the vandalism as a serious offense, not only to the property but also to the legacy of the officers commemorated by the memorial.
They have emphasized the significance of the monument as a symbol of the bravery and commitment of their fellow law enforcement personnel.
