PORTLAND — On Friday, Jan. 3, at 12:20 p.m., Portland Police responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at 33 India Street, where a 61-year-old Portland man was struck by an SUV.
The victim was hit by a vehicle driven by a 69-year-old Falmouth woman.
The SUV had initially stopped at the intersection of Fore and India Streets before the driver made a left turn onto India Street and collided with the pedestrian.
Emergency services transported the man to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The Portland Police Department, along with its Crash Reconstruction Team, is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
As of now, no charges have been filed.
