NEW LONDON — On Thursday, Jan. 2, New London Police were dispatched to the intersection of Shaw St. and Ann St. after receiving reports of gunfire and a potential shooting victim around 7:20 p.m.
Upon reaching the scene, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Emergency medical care was provided, and the victim was quickly transported to L+M Hospital for further treatment.
He was later released.
The Investigative Services Division was called in to collect evidence, process the scene, and conduct a thorough canvass of the surrounding area.
Preliminary findings suggest that the incident was not random.
As the investigation continues, the New London Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance.
