ENFIELD — On Jan. 2, at approximately 9:46 p.m., Enfield Police Department’s evening shift responded to a welfare check after a female called her family reporting she was cold, intoxicated, and self-harming.
Unable to stand and unsure of her location, she believed she was still near her home.
The perimeter units began searching the vicinity, and support was requested from the Drone Unit and K9 Unit.
The search extended to the area around Asnuntuck College after the woman mentioned seeing a blue light.
Utilizing a thermal camera on the drone, officers detected a heat signature in the baseball field dugout.
The woman was found there by perimeter officers who provided immediate aid.
Enfield EMS subsequently transported her to the hospital for further treatment.
Additionally, a K9 unit confirmed her travel route from her residence to the dugout where she was found.
