READING — Police in Reading are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who, dressed as an Amazon delivery driver, stole a package mere minutes after it had been delivered by FedEx.
The incident, which involved the theft of an iPhone, occurred when the suspect placed the package inside another Amazon box to disguise the theft.
The vehicle associated with the suspect is believed to be a grey 2019 Nissan Sentra.
The Reading Police Department has released images of the suspect in hopes that someone will recognize the individual and come forward with information.
Residents with any knowledge of the incident or the suspect’s identity are urged to contact Reading Police at 781-944-1212.
The police also took this opportunity to remind the public to protect their deliveries.
Officials recommend requiring a delivery signature or using a secure shipment drop box to prevent package theft.
