BOSTON — East Boston officers arrested a 19-year-old man and two 16-year-old males on firearm and drug charges Thursday night after a routine patrol led to the discovery of a loaded firearm and drugs.

At about 9:30 p.m., officers from District A-7 were patrolling the area of Meridian Street and Harve Street when they encountered a group of individuals.

Upon approaching the group, two individuals attempted to avoid police contact, prompting officers to engage.

One suspect fled but was quickly apprehended.

A subsequent pat frisk of the suspect yielded no contraband.

However, after broadcasting a description of the group, additional individuals were located in the Central Square area.

A pat frisk of these individuals revealed an empty twelve-round magazine and plastic bags of marijuana.

A search along the suspects’ flight path uncovered a discarded Taurus GC2 firearm with five rounds in the magazine, hidden in a trash can inside a satchel bag.

The empty magazine recovered from one suspect matched the firearm.

Luis Guerra-Perez, 19, of East Boston, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, and possession with intent to distribute Class D.

He is scheduled for arraignment in East Boston District Court.

The two juveniles, whose names have not been released due to their age, were also arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Class D.

They are expected to face charges in Boston Juvenile Court.
