WATERBURY — A 43-year-old Stowe woman was arrested New Year’s Day after allegedly driving under the influence and resisting arrest, Vermont State Police said.
Gianna Stakes was taken into custody around 6:02 p.m. after her vehicle was discovered off Loomis Hill Road.
Troopers responding to the scene reported that Stakes appeared impaired and did not comply with their commands.
When authorities attempted to arrest her, she physically resisted.
Following her arrest, Stakes was taken to the Montpelier Police Department for processing, which she refused.
She was subsequently transported to the Chittenden County Correctional Center and issued a citation to appear in court on charges of DUI refusal and resisting arrest.
