Thetford man arrested for aggravated domestic assault

THETFORD — In the early hours of Jan. 2, Vermont State Police responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at a business on US Route 5.

Upon arrival, troopers investigated the incident and determined that Justin Brochu, 37, who is currently homeless, had caused a family member to fear serious bodily injury or death.

The specific details of the altercation have not been released to protect the identity of the victim, in accordance with the policy of the Vermont State Police regarding cases of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Brochu was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Bradford State Police Outpost for processing.

He is facing charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault.

The Vermont State Police continue to investigate the incident.
