SOUTH WINDSOR — A 19-year-old South Windsor man was arrested early on New Year’s Day following a domestic violence incident that included assault and strangulation, authorities said.
The South Windsor Police Department reported that Ethan W. Laguardia was taken into custody after allegedly attacking a victim at 4:36 a.m. Wednesday.
According to police, Laguardia kicked, punched, spit on, and choked the victim, resulting in minor physical injuries.
In addition to the assault, Laguardia is accused of throwing and damaging the victim’s cell phone, which led to a charge of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree.
Laguardia was charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, Strangulation in the 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree.
Following his arrest, he was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court today at 9 a.m.
