Man faces multiple charges after Waterbury assault

WATERBURY — A Maryland man was cited on multiple charges, including aggravated disorderly conduct, after an incident at a local gas station where he allegedly assaulted a Waterbury resident in the presence of children.

Damon Callis, 44, from Silver Spring, MD, is accused of engaging in violent behavior against 24-year-old Samuel Parsons and making unreasonable noise at the Billings Mobile on Waterbury-Stowe Rd on December 30.

According to the police, four juvenile children were in Callis’ vehicle during the incident.

The situation escalated on January 1 when Callis reportedly attempted to obstruct justice by offering money to influence the investigation’s outcome.

The Stowe Police Department issued Callis a criminal citation for aggravated disorderly conduct, offense committed in the presence of a child, and obstruction of justice.

Callis is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court- Criminal Division on January 23 at 8:30 a.m. The investigation by state troopers based at the Berlin Barracks is still active.
