CHESTER — The Chester Police Department issued an urgent warning to residents after a tree fell across a road and onto wires at Shepard Home at Pheasant Run, cautioning drivers against the dangerous practice of driving under the obstruction.
The incident, which occurred today at 12:25 p.m., resulted in the closure of the road between Pheasant Run and Great Oak.
Despite the clear hazard, some individuals have been observed attempting to drive under the downed tree, a maneuver the police strongly advise against.
In a separate incident, authorities reported wires down in the grass near the water at Wason Pond.
The police have stressed the importance of reporting such hazards directly to them or by calling 911, especially if the situation is emergent.
Residents are reminded to call the Chester Police Department at 603-887-2080 to report any hazards or emergencies.
