BOSTON — A 15-year-old male was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with a shooting that occurred last week in Dorchester, Boston Police Department officials said.

The youth, whose name has not been released due to his age, was apprehended by members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) around 2 p.m. in the area of Cummings Highway.

He was wanted on a Suffolk County Juvenile Court warrant for multiple offenses, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, armed robbery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The arrest stems from an incident that took place shortly after midnight on Dec. 23 when police responded to reports of a person shot on Wilbert Road.

The victim, an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds, was found by officers on Blue Hill Avenue after fleeing the original scene.

He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

At the scene of the shooting, officers found ballistic evidence.

The juvenile suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
