WINDSOR LOCKS — A man was arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred at the Bradley Inn earlier this month, the Windsor Locks Police Department announced.
On Dec. 17, at approximately 2:07 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a stabbing victim in the parking lot of Wendy’s on Ella Grasso Turnpike.
Officers arrived to find a 30-year-old Hartford man bleeding profusely from his left lower leg.
The victim received immediate medical attention from police until EMS arrived and transported him to Hartford Hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
The investigation revealed the stabbing occurred on the south side of the Bradley Inn, and the victim and the assailant were known to each other.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction, while the victim left the Bradley Inn area.
Detectives identified the suspect as Jonathan Rivera, 32, who resides at the Bradley Inn.
An arrest warrant was issued for Rivera, charging him with Assault 2 with a weapon.
On Dec. 27, detectives conducting surveillance in the Halfway House Road area spotted a vehicle associated with Rivera entering a self-storage/commercial business property at 529 Halfway House Road.
When the vehicle stopped, Rivera was missing, prompting police to believe he was hiding among the storage units.
With assistance from other units and a K-9, police searched the area.
Rivera was eventually spotted peeking out from one of the units and was apprehended by detectives.
Rivera is being held on a $50,000 bond set by the court and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 30.
