North Troy woman cited for stealing Christmas card with money

NORTH TROY — A woman was cited for petit larceny early Monday morning after allegedly stealing a Christmas card containing money, according to Vermont State Police.

At 1:41 a.m. on Dec. 30, troopers were called to a residence on Railroad Street in North Troy where Kim Brown, 53, reported that a Christmas card with money had been taken from her.

Following an investigation, police identified Nicole Atkins, 34, as the suspect in possession of the stolen card.

Atkins was issued a citation to appear in Orleans County Superior Court to answer to the charge of petit larceny.

The court date was not immediately provided.

The Vermont State Police continue to investigate the incident.
