SHAFTSBURY — Troopers from the Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Bank St. at approximately 12:49 p.m. on Dec. 30.
The driver, identified as 61-year-old Timothy Clayton of Shaftsbury, exhibited signs of alcohol impairment at the scene.
Clayton was taken into custody and transported to the Shaftsbury Barracks on suspicion of driving under the influence.
After processing, Clayton was released to a sober individual and has been summoned to appear before the Bennington Superior Court – Criminal Division on Jan. 13 at 8:15 a.m. to face charges of DUI #1 – Alcohol.
