WATERFORD — A man armed with a knife robbed the Bestway gas station on Boston Post Road on Sunday evening, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Waterford Police Department.
The incident occurred around 7:37 p.m. when the suspect entered the store, threatened the clerk with a knife, and took money from the register before fleeing on foot towards Bank Street in New London.
The clerk was not harmed during the robbery.
Waterford Police, with assistance from the New London Police Department, conducted a K9 search in the area but have not yet apprehended the suspect.
The suspect is described as wearing an oversized black jacket, grey pants, black sneakers, black gloves, and a black mask with holes for eyes and mouth.
Lt. Patrick Flanagan of the Waterford Police has authorized the release of this information and urges anyone with knowledge of the robbery or the suspect to come forward.
