Portland police investigate late-night shooting on Maplewood Street

PORTLAND — Portland Police were called to Maplewood Street on Dec. 29 after two reports of shots fired at 11:30 p.m. Officers discovered a Ford Expedition with substantial damage parked at 1344 Washington Avenue.

The vehicle had two shattered windows and multiple bullet holes.

Shell casings were recovered from the scene on Maplewood Street, suggesting that the shooting was targeted and not a random incident.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the gunfire.

The Portland Police Department is actively investigating the case and has asked for the public’s assistance.
