NEWINGTON — A 35-year-old man from Waterbury was arrested on Dec. 29 following a robbery at Lowe’s Home Improvement and a subsequent police chase.
Scott Tenney was taken into custody after Newington Police officers, acting on information from store employees, located him in a vehicle at the Panera Bread parking lot at 3270 Berlin Turnpike around 8:21 a.m. When officers attempted to stop him, Tenney fled, leading to a pursuit.
Connecticut State Police, along with New Britain and Farmington Police departments, later found and stopped Tenney’s vehicle.
Newington Police officers then responded to the scene and apprehended Tenney.
Tenney is charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree robbery, first-degree criminal trespass, sixth-degree larceny, operating a motor vehicle while suspended, fifth-degree larceny, reckless operation, engaging police in pursuit, interfering with an officer, second-degree reckless endangerment, and third-degree larceny.
He is being held on a $60,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Dec. 30.
