Man faces DUI, cocaine possession charges after Salisbury traffic stop

SALISBURY — Troopers with the Vermont State Police arrested a 20-year-old Whiting man on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cocaine following a traffic stop on Dec. 27.

Carson P. Bertrand was pulled over for a motor vehicle violation on US Route 7 near Lotsawater Road at 10:57 p.m. Troopers observed signs of impairment and conducted a DUI screening.

Bertrand was arrested for DUI-drug and taken to the Middlebury Police Department for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in the Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on Feb. 3.

The following day, a search warrant executed on Bertrand’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of cocaine.

Bertrand faces multiple Vermont Civil Violations, including failure to display front registration and possession of an open container.
