WALDEN — A Walden man was charged with driving under the influence after his truck crashed into a snowbank on a snowy morning in Walden, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 11:31 a.m. on Dec. 28, when Vermont State Troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Cobb Road near Rock Road.
Upon arrival, troopers found that 63-year-old Robert Melcher of Danville had driven his 2019 Ford truck into a snowbank.
The roads were snow-covered at the time, and the weather was cloudy.
Melcher, who was wearing his seatbelt, did not sustain any injuries and there was no damage to his vehicle.
However, during the investigation, troopers determined that Melcher was impaired at the time of the crash.
Melcher was taken into custody for processing and was later released with a citation to appear in court on charges of driving under the influence.
