Danbury police seek silver Prius in Christmas hit-and-run

DANBURY — Danbury Police Department issued an update today in their ongoing search for a silver Toyota Prius involved in a Christmas evening hit-and-run incident.

According to authorities, the accident occurred on Dec. 25 at approximately 7:42 p.m. in front of 26 Lake Avenue.

Patrol units arrived on the scene to find a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle, which had fled before officers could intervene.

The victim was found lying on the sidewalk and was subsequently transported to Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Room with severe, yet non-life threatening injuries.

The area surrounding the accident site was closed to traffic for several hours as the Accident Investigation Team conducted inquiries.

As part of their continued efforts to locate the suspect vehicle, law enforcement is appealing to the public for assistance.

Witnesses to the accident or those with any information regarding a silver Toyota Prius seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident are encouraged to come forward.
