Charlotte man charged with aggravated assault, other offenses

CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte man faces multiple charges including 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault following a family disturbance on Higbee Road, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities said Christopher Carpentier, 37, was arrested after troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to the incident around 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 29.

The investigation revealed Carpentier attempted to cause bodily harm to a household member while armed with a deadly weapon.

Carpentier also violated conditions of his release by consuming alcohol and being present at the residence.

He allegedly damaged property and interfered with the victim’s attempt to contact police.

Troopers later located Carpentier in South Burlington and apprehended him without incident.

He was processed at the Williston Barracks and ordered held on $3,000 bail at the Northwest Regional Correctional Facility.

Carpentier is scheduled for arraignment at the Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division on Dec. 30 at 8:30 a.m.
