Boston police arrest Hyde Park man, recover gun after Dorchester threat

BOSTON — A Hyde Park man was arrested Saturday afternoon on firearm-related charges after allegedly threatening someone with a gun in Dorchester, police said.

Caprice Brison, 31, was taken into custody around 4:26 p.m. near Ashmont Train Station following a brief foot chase, according to Boston Police Department officials.

Police responded to a call at 1975 Dorchester Ave. where a victim reported being threatened by a male suspect with a firearm.

The suspect fled on foot with another male, triggering a search by Officers from District C-11.

Witnesses provided descriptions of the two men, leading officers to spot them near the train station entrance.

When approached by police, the suspects split up and fled in opposite directions.

During the pursuit, Brison allegedly discarded an object under a parked car on Beale Street.

After his apprehension, officers found a Titan Tiger .38 caliber revolver with six live rounds under the vehicle.

Brison is facing charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as possession of a loaded firearm and a second offense for firearm possession.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The search for the second suspect continues.
