VERNON — After a weather advisory warned of icy conditions early this morning, emergency crews were dispatched to Bolton Road following reports of a motor vehicle rollover.
The incident occurred just after 4:30 a.m. when the Town of Vernon Fire Department was called to the scene.
The driver, who had managed to self-extricate from the overturned vehicle, was assessed by personnel.
Crews remained on-site to ensure safety while the vehicle was being recovered by a towing company.
Town and state officials have been treating streets in an effort to mitigate the risks posed by ice and freezing rain.
Despite these efforts, some roadways may still be slick.
Authorities are urging residents to proceed with caution while driving under the current weather conditions.
