BOSTON — A South Boston man was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Dorchester on Thursday evening, charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering and stalking.

John Ahearn, 28, was arrested around 7:20 p.m. on Dec. 26, at the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and W Broadway by officers from District C-6 (South Boston).

Ahearn had been wanted for two counts of breaking and entering into a building in the daytime for a felony, along with stalking.

His arraignment is scheduled to take place in South Boston District Court.

The arrest follows an incident that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 22, when officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a report of a break-in on Codman Street.

The suspect reportedly damaged the front door of an apartment to gain entry.

After an investigation, Ahearn was identified as the suspect, leading to his arrest four days later.
