SPRINGFIELD — A man was detained by Springfield police on Thursday afternoon in connection with a retail theft and an active arrest warrant.
Police officers responded to a call on Clinton Street at 2:47 p.m. where they encountered Stephen Lee, 40, of Weathersfield.
Lee was identified as the suspect in the theft and was found to have an outstanding in-state warrant from Bellows Falls.
Following his arrest by Officers Woodell and Callahan, Lee was transported to the Springfield Police Department.
He was subsequently handed over to the Southern State Correctional Facility.
The retail establishment affected by the theft expressed satisfaction with the resolution and did not seek further action.
