Rockland police make multiple OUI arrests over holiday week

ROCKLAND — In a string of arrests during the holiday week, Rockland Police Department reported four arrests for operating under the influence (OUI), including one incident on Christmas Day involving a motor vehicle accident with a stolen vehicle.

On Dec. 25, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Rockland Police were alerted to a vehicle theft from a nearby jurisdiction.

Shortly after the report, the stolen vehicle was discovered crashed into a tree on Beech Street.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Jason Grigor of Rockland, had fled the scene but was found injured a short distance away.

Grigor was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Following medical care, he was booked into the Knox County Jail facing charges of Operating Under the Influence, Operating without a License, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident.

Additional charges for the vehicle theft are pending from the jurisdiction where the theft occurred.

The Rockland Police expressed gratitude to citizen witnesses who assisted in the crash investigation and highlighted the importance of community involvement in maintaining public safety.
