Man arrested for simple assault on Christmas Day in Waterbury

WATERBURY — A man was arrested for assaulting another transient individual on Christmas Day, according to state police.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a report of an assault at a residence on US Route 2 at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Upon investigation, they determined that 33-year-old Robert Durand had inflicted bodily injury upon 28-year-old Dakota Griswold.

Durand was subsequently arrested for simple assault and taken to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

Further details about the incident or the condition of the victim were not immediately available.

State police are continuing their investigation into the altercation.
