LYNDONVILLE — A man wanted for a probation violation in New Hampshire was arrested Thursday morning by the Lyndonville Police Department after a tip led to the discovery of his whereabouts.

At approximately 10:38 a.m. on Dec. 26, officers responded to a report of suspicious behavior at 28 Back Center Road, Room #150, where Robert Girard, 40, had been staying under an emergency housing authorization since Dec. 23.

An investigation revealed Girard was the subject of an arrest warrant from Grafton County, New Hampshire, for a violation of probation stemming from a felony conviction for possession of a controlled drug, specifically para-fluorofentanyl.

Girard was taken into custody without incident by Officer Renaudette.

Following his arrest, he was presented to the court, which ordered him held without bail at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility pending extradition proceedings.
