SALEM — New Hampshire State Police’s Special Enforcement Unit clocked more than 50 traffic violations during a recent initiative, with some motorists pushing speeds over 100 mph on Interstate 93 North.

The enforcement operation, which took place yesterday morning, utilized the State Police Aircraft to monitor traffic from above.

Troopers identified 52 violations ranging from speeding and distracted driving to following too closely and reckless driving.

Notably, 20 drivers were caught traveling at speeds exceeding 90 mph, while five were observed driving over 100 mph.

State Police emphasized the gravity of reckless driving, noting that penalties start at a $620 fine, an additional mandatory penalty assessment, and a 60-day driver’s license suspension.

Speeds reaching 86 mph or higher can incur a standard fine of $434.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the New Hampshire State Police, in collaboration with the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety, to conduct targeted traffic enforcement.

Their goal is to curb dangerous driving behaviors, prevent serious accidents, and ensure safety during the holiday season for both residents and visitors of the Granite State.

The State Police Special Enforcement Unit, using advanced technology including the State Police Aircraft, continues to be at the forefront of traffic law enforcement and highway safety promotion, aiming to reduce the incidence of crashes on New Hampshire’s roadways.
