DERBY — Hundreds of toys collected at Fred’s Energy’s Derby office will help ensure local children have gifts this holiday season, through partnerships with NEKCA and Northpoint’s “Toys for Kids” program.
The toy drive drew significant community support, including one donor who contributed a handmade wooden rocking horse. Donors could enter a prize drawing for each toy contributed.
On December 16, Rachel Twofoot from Northpoint and Merry Hamel from NEKCA’s Lakemont Family Resource Center selected winners from the Derby office entries.
Amy Brasseur won the $100 top prize gift certificate, while Richard and Sylvia Doiron and Karen Jenne won $50 and $25 certificates respectively.
The Derby collection was part of Fred’s Energy’s broader initiative across its three Vermont locations, designed to support local families while strengthening community connections.
“Because of these selfless individuals, no child will go without something special under their tree this holiday season,” Fred’s Energy said in a statement.
